SLA Mobile has followed Google and eBay on to a list of the world's top ICT companies after clinching a coveted ‘Red Herring' award at a gala event in Berlin, Germany.

The annual awards, named after the media company Red Herring, are seen as an indicator of companies with the know-how to help transform our daily lives.

“Inclusion in the Red Herring Top 100 is an important achievement for us. In less than a decade we've rapidly grown from a small start up company to being recognised as a serious business competing with the giants of the technology sector,” said Nic Stirk.

SLA Mobile has been placed on the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 fastest growing technology companies list. Getting on the list is confirmation of the success of the company, whose sales soared by 45% per annum from £1.9m in 2005 to £5.7m in 2008.

"We are a global company that happens to be headquartered in Northern Ireland," said CEO Nic Stirk. "We provide international solutions for clients wherever they are based, from South Africa to Australia. Our philosophy of working with our clients to deliver on time and on budget is paying dividends."

SLA Mobile has won the Rising Star Award at the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards in Dublin, for a second time.

"The demand for intelligent ICT mobile solutions is growing fast, and SLA Mobile is positioned to meet that demand. We are delighted to win this award, knowing as we do, the levels of competition that exist in the market."

SLA Mobile has chosen Action MS as their charity partner for 2009 and will be working with them to help achieve their agreed target. Already a number of SLA Mobile staff have taken a leap out of an aeroplane in a sponsored parachute jump to raise funds.
